RARE Goggin - This is a wonderful and good quality Bog Oak Celtic Cross dating to Circa 1870.  This Bog Oak Hand Carved Cross is a 140 Years old replica of the 5.5-metre Muiredach's High Cross which is regarded as the finest high cross in the whole of Ireland. It is named after an abbot, Muiredach mac Domhnaill, who died in 923 (yes over 1000 years ago) and features Biblical carvings of both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.

Very Impressive & Substantial Size Pair of Mid Nineteenth Century Lamps of ovoid outline, now converted to electricity. The main front central oval reserve with superb hand paintings depicting floral detail, the other sides with floral garlands all within decorative gilt surrounds, on cobalt blue ground. The lamps ending on heavy gauge richly cast ormolu bases. Condition: Good condition with no losses to porcelain, professionally re-wired.
